SUMMARY:

On Tuesday, April 21st, 2010, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Detective Jerry Shelton was notified by Home Depot loss prevention that their store on Roy Rogers had just been a victim of a commercial burglary and now the suspects were at the Bear Valley location.  As Detective Shelton neared the Bear Valley store, loss prevention reported that the suspects were fleeing in a Nissan Maxima down Bear Valley towards Mariposa.

Detective Shelton caught up with the fleeing vehicle at Mariposa and Bear Valley where the suspects turned down Mariposa Rd. and would not yield to Detective Shelton.  A pursuit ensued down Mariposa, onto Palmdale and then northbound on the I15 fwy.  Deputies Travis Randolph and Maher Awad were already in place on Palmdale and were able to take over the pursuit as it went onto the fwy. The pursuit hit speeds of 130 mph until the suspects attempted to exit at Stoddard Wells Rd and lost control of their vehicle.  The suspects fled on foot and were arrested in the Taco Chon restaurant nearby without further incident.

Detective Shelton and Home Depot loss prevention have been tracking thefts by these suspects for several months.  This investigation is ongoing and it is believed these suspects may be responsible for thefts at multiple other Home Depot locations.  Theft of items including wire from the two locations is estimated at over $5000 at this time.  Anyone with information regarding these thefts encouraged to contact Detective Shelton at 760-241-2911 or remain anonymous by calling We Tip at 800-78-CRIME.
