MIGUEL LOPEZ, AGE 22 OF APPLE VALLEY
SUMMARY:
On Monday, April 26th, 2010, at approximately 8:46 a.m., deputies of the Victorville Police Station were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery that just occurred. The 34 year-old male victim, who was working with a construction company, was washing windows on a refurbished residence in the 12000 block of Dandelion Way. Suspect Walker, armed with a small handgun, jumped over the fence into the side yard and demanded money from the victim. When the victim claimed he didn't have any money, suspect Walker then patted the victim down and took his keys, knife and cell phone. The victim observed a Hispanic male juvenile peering over the wall during the incident. Suspect Walker jumped back over the wall and the two got into a late 90's silver Taurus with black and red paper plates, possibly occupied with two additional men, and sped off northbound on Mesa Linda Ave.
Deputies checked the area for the suspect's vehicle, but were unable to locate it. Through further investigation and follow up, Deputy Mark James and Detective J. Hendrix located a vehicle matching the suspect's vehicle on outer Hwy 18 in Apple Valley. A felony traffic stop was conducted on outer Hwy 18 at Kasota. All four occupants exited the vehicle and were detained without incident.
A similar armed robbery was reported last night by a male victim that was walking in the Eagle Ranch area. The victim reported that he was robbed at gunpoint of his cell phone, Ipod and other miscellaneous items. The description of the vehicle the suspects fled in matches that of today's robbery and there were reportedly three other males in the vehicle. Suspect Walker was positively identified by this suspect as well. Suspect Walker was positively identified by both victims and the 16 year-old juvenile was positively identified by today's victim. Deputies located the stolen property from both robberies inside the vehicle. Detectives and deputies served search warrants at the suspect's residences into the evening hours where more stolen property was recovered.
Suspects Walker and Lopez were arrested and booked at Victor Valley jail. Both juveniles were arrested and booked at Apple Valley Detention Center. All four suspects were charged with PC496- possession of stolen property. Suspect Walker and the 16 year-old juvenile were also charged with PC211-armed robbery.
