SUSPECT: DONTAY GRAY, AGE 20

LEIGHA ELDER, AGE 21, ALL TRANSIENTS OF VICTORVILLE
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, March 9th, 2010, Deputies Nick Lefler and James Marshall of the Victorville Police Department were dispatched to a report of a robbery that just occurred. The 20 year-old victim reported that she'd just been robbed of a family heirloom necklace. Reportedly the victim and her ex-boyfriend ran into each other at the bus stop on 7th St and Lorene. An argument ensued and the suspect forcibly took the necklace from the victim and tossed it to his friend who then fled the area.
On Monday, March 15th, 2010, the victim contacted dispatch regarding the whereabouts of the suspects involved in the robbery of her necklace. Deputies William Hogan and Scott Stafford responded and detained the two males and a female that was reportedly present during the robbery. Deputies Lefler and Marshall took over the investigation at that time. Through their investigation deputies learned that the two male suspects had taken the necklace to a local pawn shop. Suspect Gray had reportedly threatened the victim if she were to report the crime.
It was determined that Leigha Elder, was present, but did not partake in the robbery in any way. However, suspect Elder was found to be in possession of stolen prescription medication. Further investigation revealed that suspect Elder stole the medications from a 46 year-old dependant adult that she cares for in Adelanto. Suspect Elder was also in possession of marijuana and a purse that is suspected to have been stolen out of Hesperia.
Deputies have located the necklace at a pawn shop and are working to recover it for the victim. Deputies are also attempting to make contact with the Hesperia victim to verify if the purse belongs to her.
Suspect Gray was arrested and booked on PC211-Robbery and PC136.1(a)(1)- Intimidation of witness and victims, suspect Raines was booked on PC211- Robbery and suspect Elder was booked on charges of PC368(d)- Elder and dependant adult abuse. All three were booked at Victor Valley Jail.
